Book 1: All the Gold in the World

Greta Steiner, a EUOPS, assassin is promoted from a field position to a senior operatives position and assigned Dove Abraham, a nineteen year old Mossad ex-assassin, as an assistant.  They are told to form a team and steal all of the Syrian gold reserves.  Other than being a very determined young woman, Greta has absolutely no experience in this type of an operation.  The chairman of the EUOPS operating committee takes her aside and tells her that the task is impossible but to go and make a valiant effort and then fail.  It becomes apparent that there is a political battle going on in the European Union about stealing the Syrian gold and that someone is trying desperately to cover up something.  When it looks like Great and her team will succeed in stealing some gold they are labeled rogue and kill on sight by EUOPS while someone is making deliberate leaks to the Syrians to compromise the mission and make Greta and her team everyone’s target.  To further complicate the situation, Greta and Dove are having a relationship problem.

Book 2: And None Shall Remain

Greta Steiner the new EUOPS Southern Area Supervisor is trying to get her new Cairo office set up, put her apartment together so she and Dove and their new daughter Elise will have someplace to live and get her staff organized when EUOPS headquarters calls her office in Cairo to have her check on why the shadow in a ninth floor apartment window hundreds of miles away is not moving. She uses one of the new Whirlygig drones her office is testing to take a look and what they see is an assassin with a computer controlled long gun getting ready to shoot someone at an international conference on limiting Iran’s nuclear ambitions.  The assassin runs leaving behind only a few pictures on the Whirligig and a fingerprint on a computer charger. When Greta and her team investigate what is going on they discover that someone in Egypt is in the market for an atomic bomb. They also appear to have the money to pay for it.  This is puzzling since everyone knows buying one atomic bomb is a national death sentence if you ever use it because one of the neighbors will immediately send you half a dozen more for free.  The logical conclusion is terrorists because they don’t have a country to bomb in retaliation, but they also don’t have the money to buy a bomb.  When Greta notifies EUOPS headquarters about what she’s found out she is told to set down, shut up, and join in an operation where everyone is double-crossing everyone else. 

It’s not that the English aristocracy are snobs. As they know they are actually just naturally superior.  This is because of the the English Public School system. It is organized and developed to produces a particular kind of person.  If you are a child of the upper class your parents choose the school that will influence your entire life and Lady Aerial Thomas has been sent to a strict boarding school on the outer English islands to try and break her. Aerial is not good young lady material.  Aerial is almost seventeen and according to her mother going on a rebellious bratty uncontrollable six. When Aerial decides that she would rather leave than stay she cons a Muslim Imam, Sayid Hijab, into helping her escape.

The problem is that Aerial is the daughter of Lady Janice Thomas and the granddaughter of Julia Robertson, the second in command of EUOPS. When Blossom, the head of the EUOPS operating committee and Julia her second in command find out Aerial is gone they both wonders why a Muslim Imam, and terrorist recruiter, would agree to set up an elaborate operation to help a schoolgirl run away from school. It becomes apparent that the terrorists know that Aerial is the granddaughter of Julia and they are not recruiting dupes or new members the terrorists are not interested in any girl, it is this particular girl Julia’s granddaughter they want and she is the key to some major terrorist operation.  Then when Aerial is picked up by a terrorist removal unit and flown out of the country to the Mideast EUOPS Blossom tells Agent Greta Steiner, to find out what is going on and to prevent any problems even if it means the end of Aerial.
